12:30PM SATURDAY FEATURE
1950 STUDEBAKER CUSTOM TRUCK FUELIE

This stunning 1950 Studebaker classic truck is a model 2R512 with just over 4200 miles on it since its restoration/modification. The 10 year project took place at what is now known as Comfort Collision, in Red Deer. Completed just over 18 years ago, this head-turning beauty has a Corvette TPI 350 engine and 700R4 automatic transmission. It has a Mustang II front-end and is rolling on Goodyear Regatas mounted on American Racing wheels. Updates include power and tilt steering, power windows and brakes, power tailgate, radio, dual exhaust and gauge package with tachometer.

The current owner purchased the truck from her employer, who had it built in his cousins body shop - Country Collision and Restoration. During the restoration/modification project, the box and front-end were removed and the frame was shipped to Wadsons Hot Rod shop in Edmonton for a rebuild. At the same time, a Mustang II front end with disc brakes and rear disc brakes were installed. A wrecked late-model Corvette was purchased and the motor and transmission were mounted in the Studebaker. The body was redone at Country Collision, the upholstery at Arlos Upholstery and the truck was completely rewired at the time of restoration. A recent appraisal notes this well-restored vehicle is a combination of superior restoration and excellent original parts! This truck has been well maintained and has received annual oil changes. Due to a move and property down-size, the owner is regretfully selling but wishes the new owner(s) as much enjoyment from this truck as she and her family had!
