2:30PM SATURDAY FEATURE
1970 CHARGER R/T 440

In 1968, Chrysler Corporation began an ad campaign featuring a cartoon bee with an engine on its back-promoting models called the "Scat Pack" which received bumble-bee stripes and of which this Charger R/T was a recipient of. The 1968 film Bullitt helped popularize the Charger for its notable car chase sequence alongside the titular character's 1968 Ford Mustang GT through the streets of San Francisco, which has been regarded as one of the most influential car chase scenes in movie history. In the film, a black Dodge Charger R/T 440 is chased by Steve McQueen's Ford Mustang GT. 1970 Charger continued with the same body as in 1969, with minor trim changes and was the last year of the 2nd generation Charger, which unarguably is the best looking and most desirable Chargers of all the generations. A new, high performance version of the Charger was introduced in 1970, called the R/T. This real deal Charger R/T 440 has had a professional show quality restoration, finished in its original and rarely seen Dark Burnt Orange with same color keyed interior, that was then wet sanded and polished to the highest detail show standards, resulting in a award winning arrow straight example. A factory U-code Big Block car documented and deciphered with the original fender tag and vin tags and appraisals. Believed to be a 42000 mile original un-hit car with the factory vin numbers appropriately stamped on the radiator support and rear trunk lips. Loaded with options such as R/T performance package with 440 4bbl engine and 727 automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, bucket seats w/center console, rally gauges with tachometer, AM radio, dual exhaust, Magnum style wheels with BFG radials and much more. The Dodge Charger has become one of the most owner-appreciated classic muscle cars of all time. Its uniqueness, and rarity draws great attention on the road, and at car shows. Today, classic car collectors consider these cars to be very desirable and appreciated investments. Only 300 test/tune break-in miles since restoration completion. A real deal R/T with documented provenance.
